With your senior university leadership experience and in-depth understanding of university education, we're looking for someone to provide strategic academic leadership across the education agenda – leading academic excellence in education and the highest standard of student experience and outcomes across the institution.

About the opportunity

Working closely with the faculties and professional services, you'll ensure that curriculum content is relevant, compelling, inspiring, engaging and informed by high quality research and high standards of professional practice – and that the delivery and management of teaching provides an outstanding student experience and strong outcomes. We'll expect you to drive the rapid evolution of the taught programme portfolio, at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including new programme innovation, efficient delivery and quality enhancements.

Reporting to the Vice-Provost and PVC Education, you'll deputise for them as required, co-manage the Faculty Directors of Education and lead specific strategic projects around the delivery of the education strategy. You will also work closely with directors of relevant professional services, the Director of the Learning Enhancement and Educational Development unit and senior faculty colleagues as appropriate.

About you
You'll need a comprehensive understanding of the challenges currently facing undergraduate and taught postgraduate education, coupled with detailed knowledge of differing educational models and practice. Significant relevant experience at a leadership level is also required to effectively chair institutional committees/strategic project boards and enable delivery of new initiatives at pace. Having promoted and driven educational excellence in the delivery of a comparable strategy, you're accomplished at influencing senior academic colleagues and external stakeholders alike and have well-developed networks within the education space.
