An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Research & Innovation (R&I) Support Team based within the Faculty of Science & Engineering on a fixed term contract until 30th January 2026. This opportunity is available to both internal and external candidates.

About the Role:

Working with a team of colleagues, you will proactively support the delivery of the Faculty's R&I projects in alignment with the University's Research Strategy. You will be a main contact point for enquiries relating to the co-ordination and tracking of R&I projects, and for the provision of support to enable projects to progress effectively. You will ensure all relevant activity complies with internal and external policies designed to improve the quality of the research environment.  This includes research integrity and internal peer review.

You will contribute to the creation and development of systems and processes to underpin the provision of an efficient support service. Along with colleagues in the R&I Delivery team, you will provide post-award support for projects including assistance with purchasing and collation of timesheets & invoices where required. You will also take a leading role in supporting the organisation of R&I project related events and meetings as required.

About You:

You will be educated to degree level or have substantial equivalent experience with a proven track record of managing project finances. You will be highly organised with an ability to prioritise service provision and to manage and delegate accordingly. You should also have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good numerical and analytical skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team and enjoy adapting and creating new ways of delivering key objectives
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a variety of work activities in a busy environment and meet strict deadlines.

You must also have a commitment to excellent customer service and be willing to complete development and training in line with service requirements.
