Manchester Metropolitan University is one of the largest campus-based universities in the UK with a total student population of over 35,000.

The Recruitment and Admissions Department provides a seamless service to potential Manchester Met students from first enquiry through to enrolment for all modes and levels of courses. We are responsible for delivering a range of support services to enquirers, applicants, university staff and external stakeholders.

We operate a high volume quality recruitment and admissions service, annually communicating with over 100,000 university enquirers and applicants through our recruitment campaigns. We manage 40,000 visitors visiting our campuses and deliver over 800 events off campus. We are also responsible for all aspects of offer making and offer communications with around 100,000 applications per year. Quality information, advice and guidance is at the heart of what we deliver, enabling students to make informed choices about going to Higher Education and Manchester Metropolitan University.

The Role

The Course Enquiries team supports the Recruitment and Admissions Department in its recruitment activities by delivering information, advice and guidance on a wide range of course and related enquiries from prospective students, parents, schools and colleges for all levels and modes of study at the University.

The role of the Student Recruitment Assistant (Enquiries) is to provide a wide range of information, advice and guidance to enquirers, potential students, University staff and external stakeholders by phone, email, and face to face, as well as through a number of third party platforms. The role also involves supporting the Department's key student recruitment events on and off campus, Confirmation and Clearing. 

Ideal candidate

  • You will have excellent customer service and communication skills, the ability to plan, prioritise and organise your own workload
  • You must be skilled at dealing successfully with a variety of audiences and problem solving
  • You will have a good knowledge and understanding of the application processes for university courses, UK 14-19 qualifications and student finance
  • You must have excellent administrative skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and information systems.
