About the Project
The Manchester Hospital Foundation Trust (MFT) has commissioned our team to conduct two critical evaluations:
- Hypertension Risk Interventions: Assessing interventions in North Manchester for patients at risk of hypertension.
- Inhaler Use and Hospitalisation in Children: Investigating the causes behind higher-than-average inhaler use and hospitalisations for children in North Manchester.
The insights from these evaluations will inform the development of a new health and wellbeing hub.
About the Role
The primary purpose of this role is to assist the Principal Investigator, Dr. Kim Heyes, in executing the research project. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing NHS and internal ethics applications.
- Collecting and analysing data.
- Producing findings to drive changes in practice and policy.
- Delivering high-quality research outputs and contributing to further funding applications.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A PhD in a health-related discipline with expertise in mixed methods data analysis.
- Experience working on research projects within or for the NHS.
- A strong track record of internationally recognised, peer-reviewed publications.
- Knowledge of research evaluation and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with participants and stakeholders across North Manchester.
- Experience using co-production within research (highly desirable).
Details of the Post
- Position: Full-time, fixed-term appointment at Research Associate Grade 8.
- Salary: £39,347 - £45,585 (commensurate with qualifications and experience).
- Contract: 12 months at 0.4 FTE.
- Location: Based within the School of Nursing and Public Health at MMU in Manchester, with access to academic supervision, university resources, and opportunities for remote working (as agreed with the Principal Investigator/line manager).
