Director

  • Location: Manchester Metropolitan University, covering Greater Manchester
  • Contract: Two-year fixed term initially (secondments welcomed)

Innovation Greater Manchester (IGM) is a new triple-helix partnership, overseen by an industry-led Board, whose goal is to radically increase levels of investment in research, development and innovation in Greater Manchester. IGM harnesses the collaborative power of businesses, universities and local government to support clusters of innovation-led businesses and increase productivity, high quality jobs and prosperity. IGM will enable our city-region to be a leader of the fourth industrial revolution, known globally for the strength of its innovation ecosystem.

We are now seeking to appoint the IGM Director. The Director will be at the heart of IGM, connecting businesses, universities and government to power Greater Manchester's innovation ecosystem. The Director will be the face of IGM, leading efforts to expand our networks, build new relationships, and create opportunities for innovation-led growth. Working closely with the IGM Chair, the Director will shape strategies that foster diversity, inclusion and collaboration, positioning Greater Manchester as a global innovation hub.

You will bring experience of leadership and delivery at senior level along with an understanding of the factors affecting innovation-led growth and productivity at a city-region, national and international level. You will have experience of developing relationships and sustainable partnerships that span more the one element of the triple helix and a collaborative approach to delivering complex objectives.

This role presents a unique opportunity to shape the development of Greater Manchester's innovation ecosystem and deliver prosperity across our region.
