Information Systems and Digital Services is central to where we are going as a university and what sort of experience we offer to both our professional colleagues and our students. The work we do impacts significantly on both the personal and learning experience of those who study here. We are committed to developing and maintaining highly usable, fast, flexible and personalised Information Systems services that reflect the changing needs of our growing university. As a major university with 40000 students, our IT systems are wide reaching and very varied. We are looking for a Digital Business Analyst to join us on a permanent basis. You'd be working closely with key stakeholders and teams within the business working on a large scale Analytics project, understanding the business processes involved and translating these into requirements for the development teams.
The ideal Business Analyst will have a strong background working in the Digital space, and have successfully worked within an agile environment.
We are primarily a .NET environment working towards a BDD/TDD & Continuous Delivery environment. You will be a keen self starter and able to establish communication with all the players involved to make the key connection between business and development.
You will have experience that will enable you to take on Analysis for Data Analytics, Data Warehouse, Power BI and all things SQL.
You will have solid experience using Jira or DevOps and be able to translate the technical wants and asks into documented tasks that form the basis of work carried out in sprints. Experience of running stand-ups and sprint planning is a big advantage. You will own the planning and sprint iterations. As an Agile Business Analyst you would be the best placed to understand what work is currently being carried out by your team and what the backlog that flows into that comprises of.
An understanding of MS SQL or Oracle would be preferred, with a solid knowledge of analytics / BI / databases.
You must be able to demonstrate past experience in the above areas, funnelling in to an Agile workflow.
