Department Manager (4158)

Based in one of the UK's largest legal hubs, in a great global city, Manchester Metropolitan University's Law School offers outstanding opportunities.

Manchester Law School is a leading modern university law school, recognised in the UK and internationally for generating transformative social change through law. We integrate excellence in education and strength in research, with a focus on external engagement across Manchester and beyond. We have a strong, supportive and inclusive culture for all staff and every student in our Law School community.

We have an exciting opportunity for the role as the Law School's Department Manager (Fixed Term for 6 months)

The Department Manager will take responsibility for elements such as managing the sessional workforce,  and ensuring the enhancement and maintenance of quality assurance processes for the Department.

The Department Manager will also act as a support to the Head and Deputy Head in the efficient running of the School  and our programmes.

You will have significant academic administrative experience in a higher education setting. You will be an excellent communicator and will be capable of fostering productive working relationships with academic staff, central service divisions across the University and external stakeholders. An understanding of the subject areas within the Law School is desirable and previous experience of working with a sessional workforce and timetabling would be an advantage.

If you would like to join our and share our ambition, we would love to hear from you.

For an informal enquiry, please contact  Professor Andrew Francis, Head of School (Andrew.Francis@mmu.ac.uk)
