Job description

Equality and Diversity Project Officer (4036)

Are you passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion with strong administrative and project co-ordination skills and looking to be part of a collaborative team? If so, we would love to hear from you. This is an exciting opportunity to join Manchester Metropolitan University's Equality and Diversity team, within the Human Resources and Organisational Development directorate working across multiple impactful projects.

About you

You will have excellent communication, team-working and administrative skills, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to prioritise and organise your own workload, as well as a flexible approach to supporting and embedding the wider work of equality and diversity across the University. You will have a proactive approach to engagement and stakeholder management in the context of social inclusion projects or similar.

About the Role

In this role you will support the delivery of the University's Equality Objectives. This will include:

  • Support for the achievement of the University's equality charter accreditations and the delivery of associated action plans
  • Co-ordinating the delivery and evaluation of a range of equality and diversity-focused learning and development for staff
  • Supporting the work of equality and diversity network activity
  • Coordinating employee communications and engagement activity in relation to equality and diversity.

About the Department

Helping our colleagues grasp their potential, realise their ambitions, and exceed expectations is what drives our Human Resources team. We work collaboratively to create the ideal environment for our colleagues to be exceptional and to deliver the sort of experience our students both deserve and expect. Working as the trusted voice of HR across the university, the team is encouraged to deliver innovative approaches with lasting impacts. We are passionate about creating a workplace where all can thrive, and where every single person can develop, grow and to be valued for their contribution.

What you'll get in return:

We offer 25 days annual leave, plus statutory bank holidays and Christmas closure. You will be part of a friendly, fast-paced and specialist team while working in a Hybrid way with some days in the office on campus and some working from home. We also offer flexible working arrangements where possible in addition to our pension scheme, childcare vouchers, travel discount and cycle to work plus many more.

To apply, please submit your CV with a Covering Letter detailing your relevant experience in relation to the Person Specification in the Job Description via our application portal.
