This team is part of a larger team within the ISDS department, which manage the University’s Infrastructure and Operations.

About the role:

The primary focus of the role is to provide directory, identity and access management services to over 40,000 students and 4000 staff.  The role requires you to be proficient in directory technologies and be familiar with federated authentication services and enterprise level IT identity lifecycle management, with previous experience of software integration and API development.

You will be working in the ‘Collaboration & Identity Team’, which with this role included is a team of 8.  The team along with others makes up the Infrastructure & Operations Department, consisting of approximately 40 staff members.  You will be working closely with colleagues across all of ISDS, but specifically with teams such as Security Operations, Networks, Servers, Database & Web, End User Compute and Information Security.

The successful applicant will have:

Key skills

  • Good communication, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work and interact with other teams to deliver on agreed deadlines.
  • Customer service focused approach.

Essential Skills

  • A high level of knowledge and expertise in Active Directory, Lightweight Directory Services, Azure Active Directory, Azure AD Connect and Microsoft Identity Manager.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of enterprise level IT identity lifecycle management.
  • Expertise in federated authentication and Identity Provision such as SAML, OAuth/OpenID Connect, Shibboleth, SCIM and other trust frameworks.

Desirable

  • Experience of configuring and maintaining a Microsoft Certificate Services environment in collaboration with third party Certificate Authorities
  • A strong understanding of PowerShell command line and scripting
  • Fundamental knowledge of SQL, MySQL and Oracle in order to create and run queries
  • Understanding of Enterprise class infrastructures and Virtual Machine management
  • Degree Educated
