International Projects Manager (2790)

The role sits within the International Partnerships Team of the International Office, which is part of the University’s External Relations department:

The International Partnerships Team is responsible for supporting the strategic development of international partnerships activity in support of the University’s internationalisation strategy.

The team provides professional support to the University’s senior leadership and faculties in the development of a range of models of international partnerships, with a particular focus on transnational education. A particular focus of the Team at the present time is providing professional service support for the University’s plans for the development of a Joint Institute with a University in China.

You will manage key strategic projects for the University.  It is currently anticipated that this will focus heavily on the project management of the development of the Joint Institute, through to its launch in September 2021 and the first months of its operation.

You will be key in supporting the Faculty of Science and Engineering and Professional Service departments in its development.

You may be required to travel overseas as part of this role, in particular to China.  You will not be expected to travel overseas in contravention of Foreign & Commonwealth Office advice or University policy.

You will:

  • Provide high level project management support
  • Develop a strong understanding of the University’s academic offering, particularly in relation to the proposed Joint Institute
  • Develop a strong understanding of UK-China Joint Institutes
  • Ensure compliance with the University’s internal policies and procedures, as well as external regulatory compliance.
  • Account manage relationship, particularly with the University’s partner for the proposed Joint Institute.
  • Play a role in the development of the wider International Office and External Relations team.
