Lecturer in Engineering (Project Management) (4206)

Engineering staff at Manchester Metropolitan University teach across a portfolio of cutting-edge taught programmes of study, and work on a wide range of sector-leading

Research and Knowledge Exchange projects funded by industry, Research Councils, NGOs and the Government. Our innovation, expertise and partnerships in design, modelling and simulation, engineering project management, bioengineering and healthcare technologies, advanced materials, renewable energy, communication systems and automation; drive Education, Research and Knowledge Exchange which underpin the department's activities. These are vital for applied engineering and design innovation in Industry 4.0, industrial digitalisation, to address Global Challenges and meet societal needs.

 This is an opportunity to join the Engineering academic team as a Lecturer and to develop specialist and cross-disciplinary research in one or more of the University's Research Centres. We are seeking to appoint a Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineer with expertise in project management and related engineering specialisms and the ability to teach supporting principles and skills. Knowledge and understanding of the APM Body of Knowledge (BOK) 7th edition and proficiency in project management tools and techniques is essential. Relevant experience in Industry 4.0 technologies and working with industrial clients in Engineering project management domain would be desirable. They will contribute to teaching on our portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, in relevant subject topics and support multi-disciplinary projects across all levels of study. The candidate will have an appreciable track record of peer-reviewed publications in a related research area that complements the strengths and initiatives of our faculty-wide, active research community and demonstrates alignment to one of our Research Centres in the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in a relevant subject area and possess skills and competencies relevant to this position. They will demonstrate a commitment to research and industry-informed teaching, to acquiring external RKE funding to sustain research activity and to contribute to wider activities of the Department.
