The Department of Life Sciences is one of the largest in the University attracting large numbers of students on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. At undergraduate level, we offer degrees in Biomedical Science, Healthcare Science (Physiological Sciences), Human Physiology and Human Biosciences. There are taught Masters programmes in Biomedical Science, Clinical Sciences and Human Physiology. The Department resides within the Faculty of Science and Engineering and benefits from spacious, modern and well-equipped teaching and research facilities having benefitted from recent significant and on-going investment.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is committed to providing an excellent learning experience for our students in the Department of Life Sciences and enhancing our research reputation. You will have an academic or research background, with expertise in bioinformatics and experience of evaluating large datasets. You will have a first and higher degree in a relevant discipline and will be confident in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. There is an expectation that you will undertake appropriate research and scholarly activity, with the successful candidate having an established research profile that aligns to the research activities in the Centre for Bioscience.
