Programme Support Tutor (5851)

The Department of Social Care and Social Work attracts students on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. At undergraduate level, we offer degrees in Social Work, Integrated Health and Social Care, Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeships in Health and Social Care and Social Work Degree Apprenticeships.  We have a taught Masters programme in Social Work and national Step Up to Social Work Level 7 qualifying routes.  


About the role:

The Department resides within the Faculty of Health and Education and benefits from spacious, modern and well-equipped teaching and research facilities having benefitted from recent significant and on-going investment. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is committed to providing an excellent learning experience for our students in the department, particularly  Degree Apprentices and enhancing our educational reputation.

You will have experience of supporting students in health and social care, leadership and management or social work and an understanding of current teaching practices/developments within higher education. You will have a first and ideally a higher postgraduate qualification/degree in a relevant discipline or appropriate equivalent experience in the subject field.

This is a new post that we are recruiting to as a result of our rapid and successful expansion of Degree Apprenticeships. Manchester Metropolitan has been recognised as Ofsted ‘Outstanding' for its degree apprenticeships provision against the regulator's new Education Inspection Framework.

You will also receive an additional discretionary payment of 2% per annum, which is in recognition of staff contribution to the University's achievements and which will be added to your base salary each month until 31st July 2023.
