Reader in Teaching and Learning (2536)

The Faculty of Business and Law brings together MMU Business School and Manchester Law School in our award-winning building located in the centre of Manchester. We have supported industry and commerce in the city since 1889; today our mission is ‘transforming lives, businesses and communities’.

Accounting, Finance and Banking is seeking a Reader in Learning and Teaching to join the Senior Management Team and to lead our department education strategy. The successful candidate will have experience in leading a team of academics and developing strategic responses to varied Key Performance Indicators. In particular, the role will support the department to develop inclusive practice and increased internationalisation through content development and student recruitment.

 Role

We are looking for an experienced academic who will conduct internationally recognised research in student attainment to support the Accounting, Finance and Banking department led by Dr Hannah Holmes.

You will work collaboratively with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to achieve support the successful achievement of Department and Faculty KPIs. In addition to working with the Department (SMT) you will work within a matrix management framework supporting the activity of both Faculty Head of Education and Faculty Head of International.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have a PhD and experience in delivering on successful education initiatives linked to progression, retention, good honours, inclusive education, and internationalisation. They will be confident to work independently and lead a team of academics to achieve shared objectives.
