About the Department:
Professional Services provides a wide-range of services and support to students and academic staff. Our student services span the complete student lifecycle from enquiry, through enrolment and on-course support, to graduation and beyond. Our academic services include direct support for academic staff in many aspects of their work, and portfolio support spanning the course lifecycle, from planning and approval, through to curriculum management and programme review. Our ambition is that the services we provide should be sector leading, adapted to meet the needs of our University, and sufficiently flexible to respond rapidly to changing requirements.
Where you will work:
The Recruitment and Admissions (R&A) department provides a seamless service to potential students from first enquiry through to enrolment for all modes and levels of courses. We are responsible for delivering a range of support services to enquirers, applicants, staff and external stakeholders. We operate a high volume quality recruitment and admissions service, annually communicating with around 80,000 university enquirers and applicants through our recruitment campaigns. We manage 40,000 visitors visiting our campuses and deliver over 800 events off campus. We are also responsible for all aspects of offer making and offer communications for over 70,000 applications per year. Quality information, advice and guidance is at the heart of what we deliver, enabling students to make informed choices about going to Higher Education and Manchester Metropolitan University.
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the University's successful Recruitment and Admissions team, which is responsible for attracting and admitting students to the University.
This particular role will be based in the student recruitment team and will involve the delivery of information, advice and guidance on a wide range of enquiries about our courses, applying to the University, and related enquiries from prospective students, parents, and schools and colleges.
You will support the delivery of a high quality enquiries service, providing advice by phone, email, web and social media. You will also support the department's key student recruitment events, on and off campus.
You will have excellent communication, team-working and administrative skills, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to prioritise and organise your own workload, as well as a flexible approach to supporting the work of Recruitment and Admissions. You will have a proactive approach to customer service and delivery of timely information, within a team environment.
Given the flexible nature of the role and peaks in demand, all candidates must be willing to work across the student recruitment team to ensure it is supported effectively.
