This is an exciting opportunity to join Manchester Metropolitan’s Recruitment and Admissions team, which is responsible for attracting and admitting students to the University.
The Recruitment and Admissions Policy Officer will have specific responsibility for ensuring compliance with statutory duties, such as: CMA compliance as it relates to enquirer and applicant communications; ensuring the completion of DBS and occupational health checks for new students on regulated courses; and supporting arrangements for the admission of students under 18 years on entry.
You will be responsible for ensuring changes to regulations and guidance are implemented and reflected in the University’s Admissions Policy and that appropriate Privacy Notices and Data Sharing Agreements are in place and remain accurate.
You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to influence and persuade people at all levels, conveying complex advice and guidance in an audience appropriate manner.
You should have substantial experience of working in a university or similar public sector organisation where you will have analysed and interpreted policies and guidance from Government and/or statutory bodies, applied this to specific circumstances, and used this information to produce reports to inform decision-making. You will have experience of developing and delivering agreed procedures and protocols to ensure adherence to the requirements of external agencies.
You must be able to work with a high degree of independence, apply excellent judgement in the personal resolution of complex problems, and have strong IT skills, specifically those around data manipulation and analysis.
About the department
The Recruitment and Admissions department provides a seamless service to potential students from first enquiry through to enrolment for all modes and levels of courses. We are responsible for delivering a range of support services to enquirers, applicants, staff and external stakeholders. We operate a high-volume quality recruitment and admissions service, annually communicating with around 80,000 university enquirers and applicants through our recruitment campaigns. We are also responsible for all aspects of offer making and offer communications for around 65,000 applications per year.
