Research Associate – Centre for Decent Work and Productivity
This role is fixed term, for 22 months:
We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Research Associate on a major new Economic and Social Research Council-funded project The Good Employment Learning Lab. This is led by the Centre for Decent Work and Productivity in the Faculty of Business and Law.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake and co-ordinate research and evaluation on The Good Employment Learning Lab.
The Good Employment Learning Lab will work with partners to develop effective approaches to raising line manager’s people management capabilities. In a place-based experiment, it will operate as the Good Employment Learning Lab and work with the Greater Manchester Employment Charter. In a sector-based approach, it will operate as the Adult Social Care Good Employment Learning Lab. Your role will be to develop research and evaluation methodology and to lead the Learning Lab’s evaluation function. You will also help develop capability in Engaged Scholarship, and support partners/academics to do likewise via involvement in the Engaged Scholarship Learning Lab which is also part of the Good Employment Learning Lab project.
This role will involve working with the senior research team and staff as well as multiple external stakeholders to research and evaluate interventions to create good work by raising line management capability. It will depend on taking a lead role in fostering good teamwork and shared learning. This also includes working with other researchers in the Decent Work and Productivity Research Centre and ensuring that the Good Employment Learning Lab is well integrated into the Centre’s wider work and community. You will work alongside a friendly and highly team of researchers.

Applicants should hold a PhD in a related area. Active engagement with research and evidence of publications are essential requirements for successful applicants to this post.
