The UAL Foundation in Art & Design Diploma in Manchester School of Art sits within the Department of Art and Performance. The programme has a high reputation across the sector with outstanding results at Ofsted inspections. The programme builds on the reputation of the previous BTEC provision which has been described as one of the strongest and most distinctive foundation programmes in the country. Its remit is to enable students to develop the necessary skills and portfolio to apply to a range of art and design degree courses. Students undertake a broad range of creative projects that allow them to experience a range of ideas, materials, processes and technologies. The Department has high level national league table positions and along with Design features in the QS World Ranking tables.
About the Role:
We are looking to appoint a 1 FTE Senior Lecturer to join this thriving UAL Foundation Diploma Art & Design course. As an experienced artist or designer you will have knowledge and understanding of current practices within the fields of Art & Design and will be able to teach the range of investigative processes through to specific pathway disciplines on this one-year, broad based, programme. As a Senior Lecturer you will have experience of leadership and coordination and will be expected to apply this to the course. You will be joining a dynamic, externally facing Department of Art & Performance that places high importance in collegiate and cross-cutting work.
