Research Assistant - Fixed Term 16months
About the role:
The main purpose of this role is to provide research assistance to Dr Katy Jones for her ESRC-funded project: “Universal Credit and Employers: exploring the demand side of UK active labour market policy” (ESRC Grant Ref: ES/V004093/1). The post holder will do this by assisting, and where necessary taking the lead, with research data collection and analysis (interviews with employers and policy stakeholders), and the dissemination of findings to appropriate groups related to the project. They will also support the development of new areas in the field of active labour market policy, decent work and UK welfare reform.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive colleague with a background in social policy, human resource management, employment relations or related fields (as evidenced by a post-graduate degree, equivalent qualification or substantial relevant experience).
The successful candidate will have experience conducting qualitative research. In addition, they will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to collaborate in research initiatives with colleagues both within the University and externally.
The successful candidate will benefit from training and development, publication and conference opportunities, and will be an active member of the Decent Work and Productivity Research Centre.
