Sport Development Officer (Participation) (3483)

The Sports department of Manchester Met University works with some of the most recognisable sporting talent in the UK and we have big ambitions for our future to achieve top 30 status with BUCS and are gaining a recognition as a performance sport institute, working with a number of elite sporting partners within our city.

As a University with over 34,000 students, we also have the ambition to become one of the most active Universities by providing sport and physical activity for all. We currently engage over 6,500 students and over 1,500 staff a year.

About the role
You will support the Sport Development team in the delivery of our sport and wellbeing offering. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of our participation and intramural programme. You will manage a team of student sport coordinators who deliver our sessions on the ground and ensure all activity comes within budget. The successful candidate must also be able to bring new ideas on how to engage those students and staff at the University who aren’t physically active. The ideal candidate will be confident, approachable, computer literate, creative and have a can do attitude.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have exceptional organisational skills, able to manage a vastly varied workload and a range of stakeholders, both internal and external. You’ll be a great communicator, a team player and keen to learn new skills in this challenging but rewarding opportunity.

Candidates must have a knowledge and understanding of the HE sector and previous work within HE sport is desirable.

If you would like to apply, please take the time to consider the essential criteria in the job description and provide us with a CV and cover letter that demonstrates your suitability for the role.
