About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the multi-award winning Facilities team at Manchester Metropolitan University within the Commercial Services department (Accommodation, Catering and Conferences) on their journey to become the best Facilities department in the sector and support the University's ambitions of becoming the best modern University in the UK.
The Catering Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the development of the Commercial Services department. Key requirements:
To receive and accurately check, deliveries into the stores and procurement system.
To arrange movement, storage and distribution of stock across the catering service and across the Manchester campus.
To undertake regular stock takes within the central stores, and to support catering units to undertake them at a local level.
To monitor stock levels across the service using the appropriate stock monitoring systems, and support the service by ensuring the effective rotation, deployment or transfer of stock if needed.
About the department
Responsible for delivering Food & Beverage services across the Manchester Campus, the current in-house team provide both retail catering and hospitality services across a range of outlets and locations.

Although there will be occasional evening and weekend working involved, the core business hours are daytime Monday - Friday.
