Faculty of Arts and Humanities

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is a unique environment where Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences sit alongside the Manchester School of Art and the Manchester Fashion Institute. Our people are inquisitive, insightful and ambitious. We challenge ourselves and each other, harnessing a spirit of curiosity and questioning in our students. Over 340 people are part of this vibrant community, which is both inclusive and interdisciplinary. A community inspired to develop their learning, their knowledge and their passion, delivering a compelling and memorable learning experience. They work in state-of-the-art facilities, including digital and technical workshops, studios and gallery spaces. Spaces designed with learning front and centre.

We continue to foster evolving partnerships with a range of organisations which share our values and our ambition. Such partnerships enable our students to develop their skills and passions out of the classroom. Our research centres are about creating progress and insights of lasting impact and application. With a co-creational culture touching on a significant range of disciplines, our people understand the benefits and outputs of collaboration and co-operation. With the student experience at the heart of everything you do, you’ll play a crucial role unleashing the potential of young talent, championing research-informed teaching and contributing to our extraordinary community.
