Marketing and Communications

The Corporate Marketing and Communications team (CMC) is responsible for managing and enhancing the University’s brand and reputation. The team leads on raising awareness of Manchester Met’s activities, achievements and impact across a broad range of stakeholder groups – internally, locally, nationally and internationally – using traditional and digital media. CMC works with colleagues across the University to identify and showcase those areas where our academic expertise and research prowess has made a tangible difference in the real world – the successes where we can really demonstrate the benefit of knowledge with purpose.

Our key responsibility is to protect and promote the University brand and reputation, ensuring it is recognised in the UK and beyond. We do this through:

  • on and offline marketing campaigns
  • print publications and magazines
  • media management and public relations
  • websites, digital content and social media
  • design and brand management
  • effective communications to staff and students

We also organise high profile events such as graduations and corporate functions, aligning our work with the core strategies of the University and providing it a unique, authentic presence in the sector. In sharing what we do we raise the University’s profile, and protect and enhance its reputation, and in doing this we develop a sense of community and pride in the University amongst our staff and students. In the wider world, we increase the likelihood of positively engaging different audiences – from prospective and current students and staff to policy-makers, high-profile individuals, businesses and the media as well as wider communities, alumni and other supporters. As a multi-disciplinary team of specialists, we are focused on continuous improvement, so you can expect to see regular enhancements to our website, social media channels and student communications to meet the ever-changing needs of our audiences

Faculty Marketing teams offer professional support services across marketing, digital and communications. They work closely with marketing colleagues elsewhere in the University to manage and enhance the University’s brand, support student recruitment and help raise the profile of our activities.

The Department, act as the first point of contact for many marketing enquiries, with teams based across all of our Faculties, Arts and Humanities, Business and Law, Education, Health, Psychology and Social Care, Science and Engineering.
