Apprentice & Employer Engagement Fellow (5443)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Apprenticeships Unit at Manchester Metropolitan University as an Apprentice & Employer Engagement Fellow.  The role is available for 12 months to cover maternity leave within our growing team of industry-focused professionals.  The role will have responsibility for engaging with apprentices, alumni, employers, and academic colleagues to continue the research assessment of the impact of Degree Apprenticeships; informing and feeding into the strategies for growing apprenticeships while maintaining a high level of quality and impact, in line with the University's Road to 2030 and the Apprenticeships Strategy. 


Main responsibilities will include: 

  • leading and coordinating projects,
  • collecting primary data (via surveys and focus groups)
  • analysing primary and secondary data
  • preparing project briefs and reports
  • working closely with colleagues in the Apprenticeships Unit, the Apprenticeship Research Unit and associated Research Centres to further the institution's standing in the HE and research community and contribute to the development of new areas in the field.What are we looking for?
  • The ability to communicate complex issues, develop relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients and act as a representative of the University.
  • Proven track record in developing and managing projects and/or programmes in a Higher or Further Education context, monitoring progress and ensuring delivery to deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the national policy agenda and infrastructure relating to Degree Apprenticeships 
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to evaluate and interpret complex sets of information, drawing conclusions and recommending practical solutions.

In recognition of staff contributions to the University's achievements during the 2021/2022 academic year, an additional discretionary payment of 2% per annum will be added to your salary until 31/07/23 in order to ensure consistency amongst existing and incoming staff.  This additional 2% will be paid pro rata in equal monthly installments, on top of your salary each month until 31/07/23.
