International Recruitment and Marketing Officer (3440)

Working closely with a Regional Development Manager and International Recruitment Marketing Manager, this role is responsible for advancing the profile and reputation of the University overseas, through a wide range of marketing and recruitment activities, supporting the University to deliver international student recruitment targets. This post will involve overseas travel.

Typically, you will:

  • Implement and monitor regional/country international student recruitment plans, enhancing brand profile and conversion of enquirers through to enrolment, utilising a range of communication mediums e.g. digital and social media, press advertising, direct mail/email campaigns as per market drivers.
  • Manage and deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns, the production and maintenance of promotional materials and the coordination of digital-based conversion activity for prospective international students.
  • Lead international digital marketing campaigns to include but not limited to search engine optimisation, pay per click and digital display
  • Manage a budget, taking full ownership of this and providing accountability and ownership – demonstrating regular evidence of marketing performance and ROI.
  • Analyse, create and present statistical marketing and recruitment reports.
  • Develop and manage temporary teams, which support the delivery of work in your own area and of cross-office projects e.g. International Student Ambassadors network.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to prospective international students, parents and their advisers on all aspects of studying at Manchester Met. This will be through email, phone and face to face in the UK and overseas.

The ideal candidate:

  • You will have a track record of success, developing marketing or sales plans and meeting or exceeding targets.
  • This role would suit an innovative marketer with a professional marketing qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • You will be required to undertake international visits and be prepared to travel on a regular basis, often at short notice and work out of hours and weekend work both in the UK and overseas.
  • Ability to negotiate, find and implement novel ideas and communicate your ideas with sensitivity and diplomacy.

About the International Office team:

The International Office is responsible for the recruitment and support of international students, overseas partnership development and student mobility programmes. The Office supports the delivery of the University’s ambitious internationalisation strategy whilst ensuring that Manchester Metropolitan University retains and enhances its global profile.

International is a key area of growth at the University, and this is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic International Recruitment & Marketing team consisting of 22 members of staff based in Manchester, the China Office based in Wuhan and the India Office based in Delhi, providing the opportunity to work in a forward-thinking and well supported environment.
