Press and Communications Officer (3237)

Reporting to the Senior Press and Communications Officer, you will play a key role in the Press Team, developing and delivering strategies to promote and protect the reputation of Manchester Metropolitan University with external audiences. You will be a trusted media and communications advisor working collaboratively across the Communications Team and the wider University to maximise opportunities.  

This role is based at the University’s campus in central Manchester. The team is currently working remotely and a blended approach to remote/on-campus working is envisaged as the future model.

About you: 

As the successful candidate you should have:

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience of delivering impactful media relations and an understanding of how to develop engaging content packages
  • Demonstrable experience of building relationships with staff and external stakeholders at all levels, including senior staff, to ensure a collaborative approach to achieving objectives
  • To be a self-starter who has the ability to organise and plan a complex workload and prioritise conflicting demands
