The Department of Accounting, Finance and Banking (AFB) is one of the largest departments in the North-West of England with over 1,500 students and around 55 dedicated academic staff. AFB is proud of being both an industry focused and research informed department that aims to provide cutting edge academic programmes, and to offer the best teaching experience to our students. We underpin this delivery with a focused research strategy that aligns with our purpose statement of being known as ‘The Department for Future Finance Professionals'.
As part of an expansion in our programme portfolio, the Department is seeking to appoint a Programme Support Tutor in Accounting and Finance. The focus for this appointment is to provide administrative support to the Head of Department and programme teams. This will include support with admissions, programme calendars and management, administration for guest speakers and masterclasses and developing programme set up in relation to university systems. The specifics of the post will continuously evolve to support the strategic needs of the department. A flexible approach to working will be required. The post may require some evening and Saturday work to deliver events such as recruitment fairs. Given the size of our existing cohort, we largely work in teams. The successful applicant will work closely with our programme teams as well as our existing Student Experience Officer. As such, this individual will have great interpersonal skills and be able to collaborate with others.

In recognition of staff contributions to the University's achievements during the 2021/2022 academic year, an additional discretionary payment of 2% per annum will be added to your salary until 31/07/23 in order to ensure consistency amongst existing and incoming staff. This additional 2% will be paid pro rata in equal monthly installments, on top of your salary each month until 31/07/23.
