An opportunity has arisen at Manchester Metropolitan University for a Sports Physiotherapist. This is a two-year fixed-term, full-time position working with clients attending for outpatient musculoskeletal physiotherapy and with the athletic and sports teams of Manchester Metropolitan Sport. This will include Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) and MMU Sport scholars.
Main roles and responsibilities
Plan, deliver and evaluate treatment and rehabilitation strategies for athletes / players.
Work closely with the lead Physiotherapists (Dr McCarthy and Mr Digweed) with regards to case management.
Ensure appropriate medical supervision at Manchester Mystics Home Matches
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Ensure SOAP notes are recorded and up to date
A BSc or MSc (Pre-registration) in Physiotherapy Qualification is essential.
Member of the HCPC.
A level 2 Sports trauma first aid course (RFU - PHICIS or equivalent) qualification is desirable
Experience treating adolescent sports injuries is desirable.
Experience of working within
Understanding and evidence of starting the ACPSEM bronze level accreditation or evidence of CPD in Sports taping and massage.
Enhanced DBS clearance.
This post requires Enhanced Criminal Records Checks and may include checks against the Barred Lists, as such it is exempt from Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974). Therefore, all convictions including spent convictions that have not been subject to filtering by the DBS should be declared.
You will also receive an additional discretionary payment of 2% per annum, which is in recognition of staff contribution to the University's achievements and which will be added to your base salary each month until 31st July 2023.
