Partnership Lead (Primary) - 0.5 FTE

The Partnership Lead (Primary) 0.5 FTE role will be located mainly, but not exclusively in the Primary Initial Teacher Education programmes in the School of Education. The School of Education is based in the vibrant Brooks Building on our Manchester campus.  

The school includes staff with major responsibilities on Initial Teacher Education for Primary and Secondary age phases, Early Years and Childhood, Educational Psychology and Education degrees as well as a range of Post Graduate, Masters and Doctoral programmes.

About the role:

This is an outstanding opportunity to support the learning of students following Initial Teacher Education programmes in the Primary age-phase. The role involves working closely with colleagues in delivering lectures, seminars and tutorials, with a focus on specialist Primary Music input. Additionally, the role will involve general Primary teaching including, personal tutoring and supporting students via placement visits. The successful candidate will also contribute to the administration of and recruitment to the programmes.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the education, scholarship and practice culture of the school and be encouraged to develop connections for these areas of activity in the faculty.

About the candidate:

We are seeking to attract applications from committed, enthusiastic, suitably qualified (holding QTS) individuals, with a background in Partnership working and mentoring.

Candidates should have the knowledge and experience of partnership working with schools. Suitable applicants would be confident in aspects such as mentoring and quality assurance.  

Candidates will have some understanding of initial teacher education – for example working with student teachers, early career teachers or working in a mentoring role.
