Technical Services are a large and diverse team of highly skilled technicians who ensure the optimal functioning of specialist spaces to deliver an exceptional student experience. We work in specialist laboratories, workshops, theatres, studios, resource centres and IT facilities; and our technical professionals play a key role supporting, guiding and advising students across our university from sciences, arts, design and technology, through to sports, ceramics, nursing and physiotherapy.
About the Role:
This role sits in the Live Productions team, who provide specialist technical support for the department of Art & Performance as well as provisioning technical expertise for events. The team manages and supports the newly built theatre in Grosvenor East building, which is used for a wide range of performances, shows and activities.
About you:
The successful candidate will be a proficient and practicing technical specialist in the areas of Theatre Production and Live Performance Technology which should encompass use of:
- Professional Theatre Audio Systems,
- Stage Lighting Systems,
- Video and Projection Systems,
- Staging Systems,
- Truss and Rigging,
- Scenery Workshop Tools/Machinery and Costume/Wardrobe Technology.
They will have a proven record of accomplishment in a similar environment. Additionally, they will have a positive and flexible approach to your work, be reliable and punctual as well as be motivated and willing to undertake all required training and allocated tasks. They will have the ability to work alongside others and be capable of working in a team, whilst striving to deliver excellent customer service. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a necessity as well as ability to demonstrate ownership of personal workload.
