Are you a talented events professional looking for your next challenge?

An exciting opportunity to join Manchester Met's Corporate Events team, on a fixed term basis (as maternity cover), has arisen and we're on the lookout for someone who:

  • Can hit the ground running
  • Is organised to their core
  • Thinks strategically, but is happy to get stuck in and deliver operationally
  • Has excellent communication skills and is comfortable and confident working with a mix of stakeholders

You'll be joining a team of seasoned events professionals that guide the strategy, project management and delivery of high-impact events that are directly aligned to the university's Road to 2030 strategy.

About the role

Operating at a manager level, you'll:

  • Work closely with the Head of Corporate Events, along with key stakeholders across the university, to plan, manage and lead on the development and implementation of our corporate events
  • Provide leadership and management for the Corporate Events team, overseeing and ensuring effective delivery of events and projects
  • Be innovative in your approach, using the latest in event design, strategy, planning and and execution to serve as a true strategic partner for the university, bringing quality event experiences to our diverse audiences

About you

  • A creative but analytical events professional who is able to focus on more than just event logistics. You consider the entire life cycle of an event – from vision and objectives, to pre-event planning to overall reputational impact
  • A career background designing and delivering events for large organisations, with multiple stakeholders and audiences (experience in the higher education sector would be a distinct advantage)
  • An excellent communicator who is viewed as highly credible by senior stakeholders
