Fixed Term Contract for 6 months
We are looking for an enthusiastic internal communications professional ready to take on a challenging and rewarding short-term role!
As the Internal Communications Officer, you will create high-quality content to share the University's stories, strengthen advocacy, and build a sense of community among staff and stakeholders through various media and channels.
About the Role
This role is embedded within the Communications and Engagement team, part of the wider External Relations directorate. You will play a key role in supporting and delivering internal communications strategies and campaigns that enhance our University's reputation and engage staff and stakeholders. The post-holder will be:
· Supporting communications for key University priorities.
· Creating diverse, high-quality, and audience-focused content across formats and channels to boost engagement.
· Building positive relationships across the University and collaborating closely with the wider External Relations team.
· Assisting Academic and Professional Services teams in building and driving engagement.
About You
As a passionate, creative, and proactive, solutions-driven communications expert committed to exceptional internal communications and driving engagement, you will be:
· Strong and adaptable with all-round communication skills.
· Able to create communication plans tailored to audience needs and project objectives.
· Proficient in content creation across formats, including video, intranet posts, podcasts, events, photography, and toolkits.
· Experienced in campaign management, design, and writing compelling copy.
· Excellent at collaboration for delivering integrated plans in partnership with others.
· Skilled to track, report, and evaluate campaign results.

About the Communications and Engagement Team
Our team is dedicated to building and enhancing the University's profile and reputation, supporting our goal to be recognised as the University, employer, and partner of choice.
The Internal Communications team works collaboratively across the University to implement creative, impactful plans that advance strategic priorities and keep our community informed and engaged. In close coordination with other External Relations teams, you will share insights and best practices and provide guidance on internal communications.
We put communication and engagement excellence at the heart of how we work and how others work for us. This six-month fixed-term role offers a valuable opportunity to support and contribute to exciting changes, impactful projects and experience the full scope of our work.
