Who We're Looking For 

We are seeking an enthusiastic internal communications professional ready to take on a challenging and rewarding short-term role!

As the Internal Communications Officer, you will create high-quality content to share the University's stories, strengthen advocacy, and build a sense of community among staff and stakeholders through various media and channels.

This role is embedded within the Communications and Engagement team, which is part of the wider External Relations directorate. You will be key in supporting and delivering internal communications strategies and campaigns that enhance our University's reputation and engage staff and stakeholders.

You will: 

  • Develop and support communications for strategic priorities.
  • Create diverse, high-quality, and audience-focused content across formats and channels to boost engagement.
  • Build positive relationships across the University, collaborating closely with the wider External Relations team.
  • Assist academic and professional services teams in communicating effectively and driving engagement.

You will be:

  • Strong and adaptable, with well-rounded internal communication skills.
  • Experienced in writing compelling copy and managing campaigns.
  • Proficient in content creation across multiple formats, including video, intranet articles, podcasts, events, photography, and toolkits.
  • Skilled in developing communication plans tailored to audience needs and project objectives.
  • Collaborative, able to deliver integrated plans in partnership with others.
  • Analytical, with the ability to track, report, and evaluate campaign results effectively.

As a member of the Communications and Engagement team, you'll be able to work in a flexible hybrid way, with attendance required for key meetings and events. You'll also be expected to provide out-of-hours support when needed as part of a shared on-call rota.
