Located in Fallowfield, Platt Lane Sports Complex consists of a variety of indoor and outdoor sports facilities, including 3G surfaces, sports halls, studio's and gym spaces.
The complex is home to a number of the universities sports clubs, including football, rugby union, rugby league and American football, as well as several of our recreational sport opportunities. The complex is also utilised by a number of elite teams including, Manchester Thunder, Sale Sharks, and Rochdale FC.
About the role:
As a Senior Duty Officer you will :
- Work closely with the Facility Manager to deliver a professional service to all
- Work closely with the Platt Lane Facility Manager, to ensure effective site management on a day to day basis including ensuring fit-for-purpose maintenance schedules, health & safety policies and procedures are in place, income is maximised and expenditure managed
- Work on a shift basis ensuring that the centre operates efficiently and effectively during all hours of operation
- Provide a professional, front-line service for customers
- Work flexibly to ensure service requirements are met.

About You:
You will be an enthusiastic; self-motivated and committed individual and possess excellent customer care skills, whilst having a mature and responsible approach.
The Senior Duty Officer will work closely with the Facility Manager to ensure the smooth and safe operation of Platt Lane Sports Complex. The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and have experience in working within sport and the leisure industry. A good knowledge of relevant health and safety, and high standards of customer service is essential.
There will be reception and office administration duties; you will assist with the marketing, promotion and delivery of sporting projects and initiatives. Working under the direction of the Sports Centre Manager you will responsibly oversee operations within the Sports Centre, liaise with users and oversee preparation of activity areas for a range of activities. The successful candidate will have effective written and verbal communication skills and be able to maintain a confidential helpful and cooperative manner when working under pressure.
You should be committed to working with a diverse student body and be able to show sensitivity to individual difference. In order to meet the needs of the University and Student Services, a flexible approach to working patterns / hours is an essential requirement of this role.
