We are seeking to recruit a Technical Officer to join our Technical Services Manufacturing Team within the Faculty of Science & Engineering. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a forward-thinking and supportive environment, providing specialist technical expertise that underpins a diverse range of academic programs. Our team plays a crucial role in supporting students, staff, and research initiatives through our laboratories and workshops.

About the Role

As a Technical Officer, you will play a key role in delivering expert support for learning, teaching, research and knowledge exchange. While primarily based in the Manufacturing Team, our staff work flexibly across multiple areas, collaborating with various technical teams to ensure an outstanding service.

The Manufacturing Team specialises in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, offering comprehensive support for project design, product development, and hands-on student training. Our team works closely with multiple departments within the Faculty, contributing to innovative research and academic excellence.

We take pride in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, where we are dedicated to providing the best possible experience for students and staff.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A broad range of skills and experience across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • A strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations relevant to workshop/laboratory environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • A passion for supporting students and staff, helping them achieve their academic and project goals.
