Lead the Future Research Involving Magnetic Resonance Imaging at Manchester Metropolitan University

Are you a radiographer or experienced MR Operator passionate about advancing research that involves MRI? We're seeking a Technical Specialist in Magnetic Resonance to join our cutting-edge 3T MRI research facility at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU).

Your Role:

  • Operate our state-of-the-art Siemens 3T MAGNETOM Vida MRI scanner to deliver across a range of research programmes.
  • Collaborate with different academics on groundbreaking neuroscience, musculoskeletal and cardiac research projects.
  • Contribute to connected research involving multi-nuclear spectroscopy (31P, 13C & 23Na), HRpQCT, DEXA, ultrasound imaging and facilitate the use of MR-compatible fNIRS and EEG devices facilities.
  • Ensure safety protocols and ethical standards are meticulously maintained.
  • Train and mentor students and research staff on the access, and use of MRI.

What You'll Bring:

  • Extensive experience of operating MRI scanners and collecting high-quality images in clinical and research settings.
  • Expertise in a wide range of MR scanning sequences.
  • Good understanding of other medical imaging applications (e.g. CT, x-ray).
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Commitment to staying at the forefront of MR technology and safety.
