Independent Assessors

Manchester Metropolitan University is an ambitious, modern institution with a strong focus on applied learning, industry engagement and student success. We are now looking to appoint three Independent Assessors for the BA (Hons) Creative Digital Design Professional Degree Apprenticeship.



This is an opportunity for candidates with strong subject knowledge in creative digital design who are passionate about assessment, supporting students, and contributing to a collaborative academic environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE



The apprenticeship is based in the pioneering School of Digital Arts (SODA).

Independent Assessors will provide an independent assessment of apprentices' competence, knowledge, skills and behaviours against the Apprenticeship Standard. The assessor is responsible for delivering the End-Point Assessment (EPAs) requirements, ensuring that the assessment processes are transparent, reliable and compliant.



Independent Assessors will not be involved in delivery of the apprenticeship, including teaching and on programme assessment, of those they are assessing.


ABOUT YOU



You will have: 

• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Strong specialist knowledge in Creative Digital Design or a closely related discipline
• A higher degree or postgraduate qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject area, or appropriate equivalent experience.

• Experience in the relevant field of practice through industry or teaching
• An understanding of equality opportunity and a commitment to Equal Opportunities.

You must be able to work at locations as required for the purpose of the role and work flexibly; as the pattern of working hours may vary according to the role requirements.

Training for assessors will take place online on Wednesday 22 April. The assessments will take place from 1 June – 5 June 2026 (all dates are subject to change).
