Manchester Fashion Institute (MFI) has an established reputation within the Higher Education sector, we align ourselves with elite fashion schools worldwide. We are uniquely positioned as one the largest specialist fashion providers in UK HE, providing depth and breadth of expertise in our subject. We are a hub, working collaboratively across disciplines and borders, our research and teaching cross science, the arts, business, health, sociology, sport and digital. We are looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Fashion Marketing to join our dynamic and growing team. The successful candidates will contribute to the research agenda of Manchester Fashion Institute including submission to the REF, application to funding bodies and Knowledge Exchange activities.  We actively seek research active academics interested in research with interests that respond to the grand challenges facing society in a fast-changing twenty-first century, delivering research foregrounded in critical fashion thinking and practice around cutting-edge topics such as ethics, diversity, sustainability, supply chain, digital innovation and e-commerce.  Furthermore, the successful applicant will support the students' educational journey, bringing experience, skills and knowledge to inspire the next generation of fashion talent for an ever changing industry.

We seek a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Fashion Marketing to contribute to research, teaching and student experience across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with interests and expertise including but not limited to: Consumer Behaviour; B2B Marketing; Retail Marketing; Marketing Strategy; Marketing Communications; Digital Marketing; Advertising and Branding; Brand Management; International Marketing, Marketing Analytics and AI marketing. It should be noted that experience does not have to specifically be from fashion background, although we would seek assurance through the application process that you could apply your broader marketing expertise in a fashion context.

The post holder (s) will also be expected to contribute to the research and/or knowledge exchange activities of the department for example by producing high quality research outputs, supervising PGR students, and developing funding bids OR demonstrate an interest in developing expertise and innovation in the delivery of teaching and/or student experience.

Essential Skills:

  • A good first degree together with a PhD in a relevant discipline or equivalent qualifications.
  • Interests and expertise within Fashion Marketing including but not limited to: Consumer Behaviour; B2B Marketing; Retail Marketing; Marketing Strategy; Marketing Communications; Digital Marketing; Advertising and Branding; Brand Management; International Marketing, Marketing Analytics and AI marketing.

Desirable:

  • A PGCE, Certificate of Education, PGCLTHE or membership of the Higher Education Academy (or commitment to obtain within three years of appointment).
  • Membership of relevant Professional bodies, demonstrating professional standing.
  • Successfully publish results of research to the REF, in peer reviewed journals or monographs, or publish/exhibit professional practice
