They must also be able to demonstrate knowledge of wider craft practices across multiple making disciplines. An emerging record of academic/creative/cultural leadership is essential, which may include leading educational programmes, developing curriculum, initiating and directing research or practice‑based projects, and mentoring both staff and students or diverse stakeholders.
Applicants must evidence an understanding of contemporary issues influencing Craft, including sustainability, social impact, craft futures, and educational contexts. Knowledge and competency in advanced making skills and/or Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) software is desirable.
