We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Technical Specialist in Simulation-Based Education to join our Health & Education Technical Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape outstanding simulated learning experiences for healthcare students, supporting teaching that develops the skills, confidence and professionalism required in practice.

About the Team

Technical Services provides specialist support for learning, teaching, research and enterprise activities across the University.

The Health & Education Technical Team works across simulation, clinical and allied health environments, creating practical and immersive learning experiences that help students succeed.

About the Role

You'll play an important role in supporting and developing simulation-based education across the University.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing engaging, simulated learning activities.
  • Preparing and supporting specialist simulation and teaching environments.
  • Maintaining simulation equipment and ensuring safe, effective working practices.
  • Providing technical support, demonstrations, inductions and guidance to staff and students.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an excellent technical service.
  • Keeping up to date with developments in simulation technologies and sharing best practice.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a practical, people-focused environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality learning experiences.

You will bring:

  • Experience working within a simulation facility or similar technical environment.
  • Knowledge of simulation technologies such as high-fidelity manikins, Anatomage Tables, clinical part trainers and digital streaming systems.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety requirements within clinical, practical or technical settings.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to support users with confidence and professionalism.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • Strong digital skills, including Microsoft Office, simulation software and an openness to the responsible use of AI technologies.

This role is campus-based and requires flexibility to work across university sites where required. The post holder will normally work a shift between 08:00 and 18:00, with occasional evening or weekend working to support operational requirements.
