Could you help shape how Manchester Metropolitan prepares for, responds to and recovers from major incidents and disruption?
We're looking for an experienced and proactive Emergency Planning, Resilience and Risk Manager to provide professional leadership across emergency planning, operational resilience, business continuity and associated risk and incident management arrangements within Estates, Facilities and Campus Development (EFCD). Reporting to the Head of Compliance, Risk and Assurance, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening resilience across one of the University's most diverse and operationally critical directorates.
About Our Team:
The Compliance, Risk and Assurance Team sits within Estates, Facilities and Campus Development (EFCD) and plays a key role in supporting the safe, compliant and resilient operation of the University's buildings, infrastructure, accommodation and services. Working collaboratively across EFCD and the wider University, the team provides expertise in compliance, risk management, assurance, emergency planning and resilience.
You'll join a supportive and forward-thinking team of professionals who work closely with colleagues across health and safety, fire safety, security, facilities management and governance functions to drive continuous improvement. Together, the team helps ensure that Manchester Metropolitan is well prepared to manage risk, respond effectively to incidents and maintain critical services for students, staff and visitors.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of EFCD's emergency planning, operational resilience, business continuity and risk management arrangements.
Working with a high degree of professional autonomy, you will provide expert advice, support organisational preparedness, and help ensure risks are effectively identified, managed and escalated through the University's governance framework.
Key areas of responsibility include incident management, resilience planning, business continuity, emergency response, organisational assurance and coordinating EFCD's implementation of Martyn's Law.
The role operates across all EFCD services, including buildings, facilities, security operations, student accommodation, infrastructure and critical supply chains. Occasional out-of-hours attendance may be required in support of incident response activities.
