About the team or project:
The MMU Security Service is an exceptional service, delivered with pride and professionalism. It is provided by four teams covering the security role 24/7. Each team has a Supervisor and a Duty Manager, who report to the CSOM, who in turn reports to the Head of Service (HoS).
The Security team provides a first response to all security incidents across the MMU estate, including (but not limited to) first aid requests, building lockdowns and unlocking, supporting events, report writing, investigations and welfare support, among many other duties.
About the role:
Although this post is security related, we are not necessarily seeking individuals with previous experience in the sector. Our preference is to appoint someone with the right customer-focused ethos and experience of working within teams to deliver first-class customer care.
One of the most important aspects of this role is providing a first response to emergencies and safety and welfare-related incidents. As such, we are looking for an individual who is calm under pressure, caring and compassionate.
Reporting to the Campus Security Supervisor at the start of each shift, you will be briefed on expectations for the shift and zone and deployed to your allocated area. You will be expected to respond to security-related tasks using your own initiative and skills to ensure the best possible service is provided to all stakeholders.
About the candidate:
We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive colleagues who ideally have the ability to continue moving the Security Service forward, leading and motivating not only your own team but others as well.
You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate ownership of your workload, delegate daily tasks across the team and have excellent organisational skills.
To apply:
If you would like to apply, please take the time to consider the essential criteria in the job description and provide a CV and a covering letter demonstrating your suitability for the role.
