An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Research & Innovation (R&I) Team based within the Faculty of Health & Education on a permanent contract. This opportunity is available to both internal and external candidates.

About the Role:

Working with a team of colleagues, you will proactively support the delivery of the Faculty's R&I projects in alignment with the University's Research Strategy. You will be an important point of contact for enquiries relating to R&I activities within the Faculty and will ensure all relevant activity complies with internal and external policies designed to improve the quality of the research environment.  This includes working with colleagues across the R&I Directorate and assisting the Faculty R&I Officer to provide support for research ethics and governance processes, and providing  support to the Faculty R&I Officer with the management of internal peer review of grant proposals.

Along with colleagues in the R&I Post Award team, you will provide post-award support for live research projects including assistance with purchasing, booking travel and accommodation, and keeping records and evidence of expenditure. You will also take a leading role in supporting the organisation of relevant events and meetings as required.  Additionally, you will work closely with Faculty colleagues to support the administration of internal funds to support R&I activity.

About You:

You will have substantial experience of working in a busy administrative role with a proven track record of supporting project finances.  You should also have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and provide excellent customer service.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a variety of work activities in a busy environment and meet strict deadlines.

You must also have a commitment to excellent customer service and be willing to complete development and training in line with service requirements.
