The International Recruitment and Conversion team within the International Office is recruiting an International Stakeholder Manager to join them on a fixed term contract for 24 months.

About the Department:

The International Office is responsible for the recruitment and support of international students, overseas partnership development and student mobility programmes, driving the internationalisation of the University and ensuring that Manchester Metropolitan University retains and enhances its global profile. 

About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of International Student Recruitment & Conversion, you will possess demonstrable experience and skills in areas of stakeholder and sponsor management, reporting and business development. As the International Stakeholder Manager, you will:

  • Support implementation of the Internationalisation Strategy and advance the profile and reputation of the University overseas, through supporting and managing a range of international recruitment stakeholders including sponsors which will contribute to and support the achievement of international student recruitment.
  • Be required to work flexibly to lead, manage and undertake activities across the wider team, supporting the operational delivery of international recruitment and conversion initiatives.
  • Contribute to and support the achievement of student recruitment KPIs and the achievement of challenging performance targets, as set out in the University's Road to 2030 and the Internationalisation Strategy. 
  • Provide a professional, responsive and customer service approach to working with external sponsor networks which may include Embassies, Cultural, Military or Education Attaché Offices in the UK and relevant overseas Ministries plus any relevant corporate sponsors.
  • Build working relationships with Faculty PVCs, Faculty Heads of International and departmental international leads to create the basis of a deep institutional understanding of international sponsorship as a recruitment tool, and how it can maximise opportunities, based upon sound data evidence.
  • Assist with the operational management of the University's international education advisers, including developing and maintaining databases to record key contact information, ensuring contact details are up to date, support the annual education adviser review and ensure that relevant contracts are up to date and fit for purpose.
  • Lead a team of temporary staff recruited from time to time like Student Ambassadors

About You:

With experience of international education and student recruitment, ideally in a UK Higher Education context, you will:

  • Have a track record of success, particularly building relationships and networks with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think strategically, negotiate, find, and implement novel solutions.
  • Communicate your ideas with sensitivity and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrate cross cultural sensitivity and experience of working with other cultures.
  • Be able to undertake international travel representing the university overseas for up to 4 weeks per year.
