The Faculty of Business and Law brings together Manchester Metropolitan University Business School and Manchester Law School in our award-winning building located in the centre of Manchester. Manchester Metropolitan University Business School is one of the elite, triple accredited by AACSB; EQUIS; and AMBA, indicating our strong commitment for high standards of research and teaching which is the backbone of our mission to transform lives, businesses, and communities.
Sitting within the Business School, the Department of Finance and Economics is a large and dynamic department. We are focused on delivery excellent education and research with impact. With over 2,000 students and 80 dedicated academic staff, we achieve these goals through continuous review of our portfolio and enabling strategies. Our most recent programme review has presented us with an opportunity to build on our existing strengths by expanding on our engagement with businesses and strategic partners. This will allow us to both strengthen the relationship between our programmes and the graduate environment, as well as provide us with the opportunity to share our expertise through strategic external relationships.
This provides us with an exciting opportunity to recruit to the role of Lecturer in Banking and Finance, on our Education, Practice and Citizenship (EPC) pathway. For this post, we are looking for individuals who have extensive industry experience. We want you to be able to bring theory of banking to life in the classroom by being able to contextualise it with your own practical experience. We also want to work with an individual who can support our ambition to expand our engagement with regional partners. We want to connect more strategically into the local and national industry, building mutually beneficial relationships.
Ideal candidates will have significant industry experience that has progressed into leadership roles. They will be confident in their ability to share their expertise with a wide variety of audiences, using a variety of communication approaches. Such audiences will include undergraduate and postgraduate students, fellow academics and external partners. You will be able to demonstrate strong potential for delivering high quality teaching in your areas of specialism supported by a strong understanding of industry trends.
As this post is aligned with our Education, Practice and Citizenship pathway, we are not currently seeking candidates who are interested in positions that attach a research allowance.
