The School of English is a vibrant, inclusive community of expert practitioners and researchers, working together to make a difference locally and globally, through performative, written and spoken communication. Based in a city known for innovation, our staff and students thrive in a dynamic learning environment. From a city rich with cultural opportunity and creative energy to the sector leading facilities on campus, our Oxford Road campus sits at the centre of it all. Many of our disciplines are based in Grosvenor East; a purpose-built facility that offers TV and radio studios, a language resource centre, a 180-seater theatre, a café and the Manchester Poetry Library — a public space for inspiration and connection.

The school is seeking a full-time fixed term lecturer in TESOL and Applied Linguistics to lead on a range of modules across our undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes.  Working with a thriving and highly regarded team of academics, the key focus of the role will be to lead on modules with specific specialisms including systemic functional linguistics, corpus linguistics, and discourse analysis.

If you would like to join our people and share our ambition, we would love to hear from you.

To apply, please submit your CV and covering letter (of no more than 2 pages) via our application portal.
