About the team:
Technical Services are a large and diverse team of highly skilled technical professionals who ensure the optimal functioning of specialist spaces and resources to deliver an exceptional student experience. We work in specialist laboratories, workshops, studios, resource centres and IT facilities; and our technical professionals play a key role supporting, guiding, and advising students across our university from sciences, art, design and technology, through to sports, ceramics, nursing and physiotherapy.
About the Role:
This role sits within the Digital Arts team, who provide specialist technical support to the Faculty of Arts & Humanities by managing studio spaces, supporting the delivery of Technical Skills Sessions to students, and providing support to academics.
You will also assist the team by providing reactive support in our three drop-in areas: Digital Media Bar, Digital Arts Lab, and the Photography area. The role involves supporting staff and students across a diverse number of customer-facing specialist counters and support areas.

About You:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about creative technology and enjoys working in a dynamic, customer-facing environment. You will have the technical expertise to support students and staff in producing high-quality creative content, alongside strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have strong general skills in creative technology, with a specific focus on the use of high-end graphics, illustration, and animation-based equipment and software to enable students to produce high-end content
- Demonstrate skills in a broad range of specialist software used within the print, graphics, and media production industries (including but not limited to: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects & InDesign)
- Have an advanced understanding of colour management and how this differs between print and screen media workflows.
- Have a proven track record of accomplishment in a similar environment.
- Show a positive and flexible approach to work, being reliable and punctual. As well as motivated and willing to undertake all required training and allocated tasks
- Work effectively as part of a team while delivering excellent customer service.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate ownership of personal workload.
- Be willing to learn and develop as part of the role.
